Like most game systems, White Wolf weapon damages in some cases are not consistent with other calibers. These include such items as having the .22 round inflict the same damage as the 9 mm round and having the 5.56 and 7.62 rounds inflicting the same damage when the 7.62 round is significantly more powerful. Other errors include having the Glock 20 inflict less damage than other weapons in 10 mm cartridge. Finally, there are multiple calibers that have not been listed. This is partially due to some of the rounds being fairly new but many are used quite commonly such as the .357 Sig round. These tables are designed to reduce confusion and add additional calibers.
The Authors have attempted to get prices for as many types of ammunition as possible although getting a price was impossible in some cases. For common ammunition types, there is often a large variety of costs for ammunition. The Authors generally used low end prices but not the absolute lowest prices for the ammunition. Most Russian ammunition prices are based on Russian Military Surplus prices. Non Surplus is about twice as expensive on average but is of much higher quality. For exact prices on ammunition, the Authors suggest that the reader search through gun magazines or online ammunition websites. Some of the ammo prices are estimated and should not be taken as real life costs. Many of the specialty ammo types are very hard to get a hold of but may be specially made. Given the right equipment, a good gunsmith can make most varieties of ammunition.
Note, some of the damages have been changed.
Whitewolf Problem 1: Hollowpoint damages. Why would you have a weapon that doesn't fire hollowpoint ammo? If you knew, saw or hunt any of the creatures in Whitewolf games, you would want the best weapon available to stop them. I would use these values as damages with hollowpoint ammo and assume everyone uses hollowpoint ammo and not give munchkins bonus damage fo saying they use hollowpoints. Personally, I ignore all the little rules at the bottom.
Whitewolf Problem 2: Vampires take bashing damage from guns but lethal from swords? Some say that this reflect vampires being dead and having less fluid in their body to cause shockwaves. As was pointed out earlier, this is wrong. Whitewolf's official/unofficial response is that vampires having sword fights is cooler than them having gun fights. I think they should both do lethal damage, but that's just me.
